David Davtian has several years of experience in the Armenian government and subsequently in the private sector in Armenia and the US. As part of his career in the Armenian civil service, Mr. Davtian has worked as Head of America and Asia Department at the Ministry of Diaspora; a Senior Advisor to the Minister of State Revenues; head of Customs Policy Department at the Ministry of Finance and Economy; the Chief Negotiator in Geneva for Armenia’s WTO accession; a Senior Expert (international tax affairs) at the State Tax Inspectorate; and a department head at the Chamber of Commerce. After moving to the US, he has worked as a consultant at the World Bank and as a communications manager at the Armenian Embassy in Washington. While in the private sector, David has successfully launched a number of small scale start-ups both in Armenia and the US. He is a graduate of Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University (Master of International Policy and Practice) in Washington and Armenian State Engineering University (Bachelors in Engineering) in Yerevan, and has taken courses at the Joint Vienna Institute (Macroeconomics) in Vienna; National Institute of Economic Research (Postgraduate studies) in Yerevan; and GIA Professional School (Management and Marketing) in Paris.
