Jeffrey Tufenkian is the President and Co-Founder of the Kanach Foundation, and the Environmental Branch Manager of the Tufenkian Foundation. He has over twenty years of advocacy experience in the U.S. and most recently in Armenia on a variety of issues including environmental protection, human rights, public health, and consumer protection. He holds a BA degree in humanities and his work has included organizing students, developing policy, media advocacy, lobbying, fundraising, candidate campaign management, and nonprofit management. Mr. Tufenkian first came to Armenia in 2002 to explore then initiate the environmental program for the Tufenkian Foundation and Armenian Forests NGO. In 2004 as a means to further environmental protection and support sustainable economic development, he also co-founded Kanach Foundation through which he co-authored the first adventure sport book of independent Armenia entitled Adventure Armenia: Hiking and Rock Climbing which is available in English and Armenian language versions.
