Armen Kharazian is an independent analyst with expertise in foreign and national security affairs. He previously served as the Director of Research and Analysis at the Armenian Assembly of America and as a member of Armenia’s diplomatic service. His career highlights include service as Minister-Counselor and Deputy Chief of Mission of Armenia to the United States (1999-2001), Director for Political-Military Affairs at the Foreign Ministry in Yerevan (1997-1999), and member of Armenia’s negotiating team on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict (1994-1998). Mr. Kharazian holds a BA from the School of Oriental Studies at Yerevan State University, and an MA from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Beside his native Armenian, he also speaks English, Russian and Arabic.
