Matthew Karanianis a litigation attorney in Los Angeles, California and has practiced law in California and Connecticut since 1987. He has also served as a research attorney with Georgetown University's Institute for the Study of International Migration where the focus of his work was on the human rights of internally displaced peoples. Matthew recently completed three years of service to the American University of Armenia as the Associate Dean of the law program and as both Director of the University's Legal Research Center and as an Associate Professor of Law. He is a contributing author to the human rights book "Catching Fire: Containing Forced Migration in a Volatile World," published through Georgetown University in 2006. He is also the author of numerous books and articles about Armenia.
